Types of commonly used water pumps

The circulating pumps used in the air-conditioning water system are all centrifugal water pumpsAccording to the installation form of the water pump, there are horizontal pumps, vertical pumps and pipeline pumps; according to the structure of the water pump, there are single suction pumps and double suction pumps.

Horizontal pump—It is the most commonly used air conditioner water pump. Its structure is simple, the cost is relatively low, the operation stability is good, the noise is low, the vibration reduction design is convenient, the maintenance is relatively easy, but it requires a certain area.

Vertical pump—When the area of the machine room is tight, vertical pumps can be used. Because the motor is located on the upper part of the water pump, its aspect ratio is greater than that of the horizontal pump, so the stability of operation is not as good as that of the horizontal pump. The design of vibration reduction is relatively difficult, and the maintenance is more difficult than the horizontal pump. Generally higher in price than horizontal pumps.

Pipeline pump-is a special form of vertical pump, its biggest feature is that it can be directly connected to the pipeline, so it does not occupy the area of the machine room. But it also requires that its weight should not be too large. The capacity of the domestic pipeline pump motor does not exceed 30kW.

Single suction pump-its characteristic is that water flows in from the central axis of the pump. After being pressurized by the impeller, the hydraulic efficiency of discharging it in the radial direction cannot be too high. There is axial thrust during operation. This pump is simple to manufacture and has a low price, so it is widely used in air-conditioning projects.

Double suction pump—It uses water inlet on both sides of the impeller, its hydraulic efficiency is higher than that of the single-suction pump with the same parameters, and the axial unbalance force during operation is also eliminated. The flow of the pump is large. The structure of this kind of pump is relatively complex, the manufacturing process requires high, and the price is relatively expensive. Therefore, double-suction pumps are often used in air-conditioning water systems with large flow.

Horizontal single-stage single-suction centrifugal pump;
